Only 30 miles north of Corte Madera is the beautiful and famous Sonoma Valley, known for its impressive wine industry. Whether you go and stroll along Sonoma Creek, visit the wineries or ride the Sonoma TrainTown Railroad with your children, you will have fun and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This region also holds many festivals throughout the year that can be fun for the entire family. There is the Olive Festival, which is held during January and February and celebrates everything having to do with the olive, including olive-tasting events, olive-oil making presentations and olive-scrub spa days.
The drive from Corte Madera to San Mateo is only 33 miles, making this day trip a terrific opportunity for you and the kids. With the County Fair, the Maker Faire, CuriOdyssey, San Francisco Aloha Festival and Peninsula Ballet Theater all taking place in this town, you are sure to have a fun time.
