There is no better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than at the Larkspur Flower and Food Festival, the Bay Area’s longest running festival of this type. Set at the base of the majestic Mt. Tamalpais, Magnolia Avenue is a picturesque setting for such an event, which features a sample of bouquets and a taste of the area’s finest foods. With live music, a variety of vendors and flower art and crafts galore, the festival is a perfect event for families, children and adults. Presented by the Larkspur Community Association, this event is held on Magnolia Avenue between King and Ward Street in Larkspur.

This is a hometown parade for the twin cities of Larkspur and Corte Madera. This parade is considered to be one of the best in the county. This has been a cherished annual event for nearly 50 years in the local community. The annual event is sponsored by the cities’ Chambers of Commerce with the help of many citizens. Drawing people from all over the Bay Area, it is a must see.

From June to August, you can take your lawn chair and even a picnic to a local park. A perfect event for families and friends, Corte Madera’s summer concert series takes place in Old Corte Madera Square at the Piccolo Pavilion. Hosted by the Corte Madera Community Foundation, these shows run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and are completely free, so make sure to stop by on a summer Sunday.

Featuring beer and ale produced by the best microbreweries in Northern California, Oktoberfest is a long-running tradition that the community loves. Drawing residents and visitors from nearby cities, Oktoberfest in Corte Madera allows you the chance to taste domestic and imported microbrews and a variety of festival foods. There is live music and a silent auction, as well as a multitude of children’s activities, which make the festival a family friendly event.
